Saint Martha’s shelter is currently experiencing problems with their phone lines.  While they have some limited functionality, callers may periodically experience a busy signal or “dead” air.  We are working as quickly as possible to rectify the problem.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

***THANK YOU to the agencies who have provided us with this data. It was pointed out that we missed a few zips. The updated list is attached. No need to complete again if you already sent it. The Advocacy and Action committee spoke at our last SLEDSVN meeting about collecting consistent data that shows where people are reaching out for help.  This information is important to show the impact of domestic violence in municipalities, districts, or specific regions.  The compiled data will be shared with all member agencies to use in legislative advocacy work, grant writing, or systems advocacy in general.  We will create a map with a percentage breakdown of zip codes and can then use that breakdown to compile into regions of each county (i.e North, South, Mid-town).    The purpose is not to identify individual services provided but the zip codes of the people we are serving.  The data can be inclusive of both DV and SV services, no need to separate or focus on one and not the other.   The final data report will not be broken down by agency but as a collective whole of community victim service providers.  Police and court-based programs (if we can gather that information from them) will have a separate map.  All information and final maps will be widely shared and transparent.   We know this is no easy task and for some, others can pull this data easily from software. However, we feel this information will be a good tool for us to have.  The Excel spreadsheet is attached, and we ask that responses be turned in by August 10th to carlam@saintmarthas.org.  Please reach out to me or Samantha Wayant at swayant@ywcastlmo.org  if you have any questions.

As you all know, we completed a year-long project in St. Louis County Domestic Violence Court and presented the report to the judges in July.  The advisory team received positive feedback from several of the judges.  I wanted to share the final report as we are now making it public on the Saint Martha’s website (link below) and with our community partners.  Saint Martha’s would like to thank the St. Louis County DV Court and commend them on their continued commitment to enhancing the court’s response to domestic violence.  We would also like to thank the community members of our advisory team – Christina Holmes, Katie Dalton and Pam Peigh for their wisdom and continued support!   Court Watch Project Report – 2022-2023 St. Louis County DV Court - Saint Martha's (saintmarthas.org)   This project and the work we continue to do would not be possible without our volunteers and fellow advocates.  And we will be needing you all over the next year as we start observing again in the City and work with other stakeholders to improve practices in the St. Louis City adult abuse dockets.  I will be sending out information for our next training for new monitors this week.

To our community partners, Due to significant water damage, the Saint Martha's Drop-in Center will not be open for walk-ins at 4733 Mattis Road until further notice. Beginning Tuesday, December 27th, individuals seeking assistance can continue to use our business line (314) 487-2062 to reach an advocate and all in-person services will need to be arranged in advance and at a safe, alternate location. If you are working with someone you would like to refer, please continue to do so and feel free to reach out to us with any questions. We anticipate this to be a long road ahead but are dedicated to continuing our services to the community. We will provide more information and updates as they become available. Thank you, Carla Maley
