Please see this invitation from the Center for Policing Equity for a working group addressing IPV in St. Louis City. Everyone is invited, and YOUR voice is needed! Please consider signing up - it's time-limited and helpful to have a variety of perspectives of folks doing DV work in our community. Thanks in advance! Hi Everyone, I trust this message finds you well. I want to express my gratitude for the engaging discussions and valuable perspectives shared during our first working group sessions. I hope you've had a chance to review our most recent report, "Redesigning Public Safety in the City of St. Louis: A Progress Report," (https://policingequity.org/newsroom/official-statements/cpe-publishes-redesigning-public-safety-in-the-city-of-st-louis-a-progress-report)which includes the detailed IPV/DV memo detailing our first sessions. Our initial sessions laid a strong foundation for identifying, framing, and enhancing collaborative efforts among service providers, addressing service gaps, and brainstorming potential solutions. We believe there is great value in continuing our dialogue. I invite you to participate in a second round of working group sessions, where we can delve deeper into the feasibility of the recommendations and explore practical steps to operationalize our working group's recommendations. I am also extending an open invitation to individuals who may be interested in joining our efforts. If you have someone in mind, please feel free to let me know; we welcome diverse voices, particularly from those serving IPV/DV victims/survivors. These Zoom sessions, each lasting approximately 60 minutes, will occur bi-weekly over four sessions. To gauge interest and ensure scheduling convenience, kindly complete this Google Survey Form.(https://forms.gle/3oz3p6cV7WEK1wg88) Your responses are appreciated by January 9, 2024, to assist us in planning and scheduling these sessions effectively. If you are not able to participate, please let us know via the survey. Further details and confirmations will be shared with you in the upcoming weeks. Thank you for considering this invitation to contribute your valuable insights. I look forward to our collaboration. Warm regards, Juanisha Juanisha Byrd, MPH Impact & Engagement Manager 205.837.0011 w: policingequity.org(http://policingequity.org) t: @PolicingEquity f: /CenterForPolicingEquity

Please see the message below from NNEDV! To try to order Ring Cameras, you can go to: https://page.techsoup.org/ring-for-nonprofits(https://page.techsoup.org/ring-for-nonprofits) _________________________________________________ Today, the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), in partnership with Ring, announced the second year of the Ring Donation Program for Domestic Violence Survivors. The program provides video doorbells, security cameras, and Ring Protect Plan subscriptions for the life of each device for domestic violence organizations to give to victims and survivors of abuse. In its first year (November 2022 through October 2023), the program distributed 10,000 devices.   With the goal of enhancing safety planning for domestic violence survivors and their families, this collaboration will continue to benefit nonprofit organizations and federally recognized tribal organizations whose primary mission is to support survivors of domestic violence. These organizations include NNEDV’s membership of the 56 state and U.S. territorial domestic violence coalitions and the nearly 2,000 local domestic violence programs they represent.   “We’re excited to continue our partnership with NNEDV to expand the project’s reach to support more communities and survivors across the country,” said Leila Rouhi, Vice President of Trust and Privacy at Amazon and member of the NNEDV Board of Directors. “Expert organizations like NNEDV help us understand how we can best support their efforts, and we look forward to continuing to learn from NNEDV and extending our impact in the coming year.”   Another 10,000 video doorbells, security cameras, and Ring Protect Plan subscriptions are now available. Eligible organizations (including those that received devices last year) may order up to 30 devices per organization during the 2023-2024 program year. Devices will be available in bundles of six, with a $48 administrative fee per bundle to cover operating costs for our partners at TechSoup.   The program will continue to include NNEDV’s Safety Net team sharing privacy and security best practices with recipient organizations to ensure advocates can effectively support survivors who want to use these devices.   “Technology can be a lifeline for survivors in need, providing a means to access support, resources, and connection in the midst of trauma,” said Erica Olsen, NNEDV’s Safety Net Senior Director. “Supporting survivors’ safe, empowered use of technology is a cornerstone of our work. We are proud to have successfully completed the first year of the Ring Donation Program and look forward to continuing to make a difference for survivors and advocates across the country, thanks to Ring’s ongoing partnership and commitment.”   Interested domestic violence organizations can review eligibility requirements and request devices here.(https://page.techsoup.org/ring-for-nonprofits)   NNEDV’s Safety Net team has compiled additional FAQs and resources for survivors and advocates, which can be accessed here.(https://www.techsafety.org/ring-donation-program)   ###   The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) represents the 56 state and U.S. territorial coalitions against domestic violence. NNEDV is a social change organization working to create a social, political, and economic environment in which domestic violence no longer exists. NNEDV works to make domestic violence a national priority, change the way society responds to domestic violence, and strengthen domestic violence advocacy at every level.

Pair Studies based out of Arizona State University are conducting a study to better understand the risk factors for domestic homicide. They are currently wanting to interview folks who have lost a loved one to domestic homicide between 2016-2020. They have created a very intentional, thoughtful, and trauma-informed way to conduct these, and are offering compensation. Pair Studies needs our help reaching these folks! Attached are several flyers and some social media posts from the study: The “Advocate Flyer English” is for other advocates - feel free to share! The “English Flyer NOK” is for recruiting next of kin of homicide victims, so you could use that to directly tell survivors or community members about the study. The social media posts are a one-pager (SM2) and a series for a story that you would swipe (1, 2, 3, 4) and I have included a suggested social media caption in case you have social media where you could advertise. If you have additional recruitment ideas, Dr. Messing would love to brainstorm about how to engage potential participants throughout Missouri. Her contact info is below: Jill Theresa Messing, MSW, PhD (pronouns: she/her/hers) Professor, School of Social Work Director, Office of Gender-Based Violence Chair, Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure Arizona State University 411 N.
