Crime Victim Center would like to share with SLEDSVN that our 13th Annual Vigil of Remembrance is happening this Saturday, April 15th at Sts. Teresa and Bridget Church located at 2401 North Grand Blvd. The event runs from 11 AM - 12:30 PM, and we will have a speaker who lost two children to homicide, as well as local leaders, offer words of comfort. In the city of St. Louis alone, there were 9 IPV/DV related homicides in the past year and it would be great to have the support of the DV community at the event. If you have a client that would like to submit a photo of their loved one for our memory board or general questions-- email me at kate@supportvictims.org

April is Child Abuse Awareness month and Crime Victim Center is hosting a social/mixer for victim advocates, law enforcement, DV shelter advocates, and court personnel who work with child abuse survivors. Attached is a flyer with more information, but it will be held on Friday, April 1st from 4 pm to 7 pm at the American Legion Post 111 in Shrewsbury. The goal of this event is to get folks together to share resources in order to better serve children who have been affected by abuse. There have been so many changes since COVID and it will be nice to get out of the office and meet other agencies we can partner with. Several community partners will be there including Bikers Against Child Abuse and Crime Victim Center. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Kat by emailing her at kate@supportvictims.org [Not a typo, there is supposed to be an"e"] =) Bring your agency brochures or business cards.
