Hello all! FamilyForward's Redevelopment Opportunities for Women Program is offering an advanced economic advocacy training for those interested in learning more about assisting survivors in achieving financial stability. We will discuss topics such as 1) how to achieve survivor accountability while maintaining a person-centered empowerment approach; 2) the impact of trauma and oppression on a survivor's ability to achieve economic stability and strategies to assist; 3) providing culturally inclusive and culturally sensitive economic advocacy; 4) long-term strategies for short-term services. We are offering the training twice, but participants only need to attend one session. The training will cover very few entry level economic advocacy basics, so participants should have a baseline knowledge of providing economic advocacy to survivors. If you've been trained by anyone at ROW or if you've received an Allstate, United Way, or similar 101-level economic advocacy training, then you'll have the knowledge you need to attend this training. Session information Friday, October 15 10am-2pm Meeting will be held via Zoom Thursday, October 28 12:30-4:30pm Meeting will be a hybrid of Zoom and in-person at the FamilyForward South office at 3309 S. Kingshighway Blvd. There will be light refreshments for in-person attendees. Face coverings are required in all FamilyForward facilities. Registration is free and open to all SLEDSVN member agencies. To register, email rowgroups@familyforwardmo.org or call 314-588-8300, ext. 6311. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Janee Johnson at janee.johnson@familyforwardmo.org.

Hello everyone! FamilyForward's Redevelopment Opportunities for Women Program offers a four-session financial empowerment group called REAP - Realizing Your Economic Action Plan. Individuals attending the groups can learn about how oppression, domestic violence, and trauma all impact spending habits, as well as how to manage their money, understand their credit, and invest for the future. The next session of groups will be on June 2, June 9, June 16, and June 23 from 6-8pm. Groups will continue to be held virtually via Zoom. All individuals in the community who identify as women and/or femme are invited to attend.
